OK, looking at the manual starting at pg. Bottom line is it shows off-line in windows, but ready to print if I connect directly to the printer via it's ip. I have the printer set to use off-line which is set up by default and is suggested by Epson. Even after the reboot I can ping the printers IP, I can see it using Epson's network utility (shows ready to print) and I can access the printer (and configure it) by going to it's IP address. Then it shows off line in devices/control panel and the only way I can get it to work over the network is to reinstall the printer software.
#EPSON 3880 PRINTER UTILITY WINDOWS INSTALL#
When I first install the Epson printer software it works over the network until I reboot. I can see and configure the printer by going to it's IP address or using the Epson network utility. I have my 3880 set manually for 192.168.1.111 I have reserved that IP address in my router (just in case) although it doesn't seem to matter. If I go to "Devices and Printers" and right click on the 3880 then select "See what's printing" and select "Printer" in the new window I see the entry for selecting "Use Printer Offline." This is not selected for my 3880. In Win 10 when I go to "Settings/Printers & Scanners" I see all my installed printers including Epson Stylus Pro 3880 (was the 3800 a typo in your last post). Then “Printers”, right click on the Epson Stylus Pro 3800 and then select “Use Printer Online” (going by memory here so the setting might not be exactly in that location, but it's in there).
Maybe look at yours and see where it's set. Various troubleshooting information I have read suggested to do it as well as Epson's official troubleshooting documentation. When I reinstalled the software I looked and it was already set to use off-line.
I think it's set to use off line by default. I would try not setting the printer to off line and see if that helps. I have never done this, even when I had it connected to my LAN so am not sure if this is the source of the problem. Also, I am not sure why Epson recommends setting the printer to use off line. Researching the issue, someone had a similar problem posted in the printing forum ans was told to post hereįrom my experience I would feel that the problem is printer related, not computer. I have the 3880 with Win 10 but only use it through its USB port. You might want to try the Printers and Printing forum.
